August 12th West Fork Fishing Report

Current Fishing Conditions Rating: 7/10

Current Stream Flows: 265 CFS Near Conner

The West Fork of the Bitterroot does NOT have any "Hoot Owl" restrictions placed on this stream. With water being released from the bottom of Painted Rocks reservoir, the water temps are cold and the fish are happy. Look for the afternoons to be better up here when the temps warm up a bit. Hopper fishing, Ants and beetles have all been fishing. Fish middle of the runs in the deeper, faster water for best success. A dropper such as a PT, Perdigon or Rubberlegs will keep you busy most of the day.
